On September 24th, Jimmy John’s, a famous Sandwich Shop franchise, reported that it “learned of a possible security incident involving credit and debit card data at some of Jimmy John’s stores and franchised locations.”

On September 9, Apple announced that they will start incorporating Apple Pay into their mobile devices. Apple and members of the media claim that Apple Pay could potentially put an end to the data breaches involving point-of-sale (POS) systems. We take a deeper look into Apple’s new payment service, to see if consumer are truly as a safe as the tech company claims to be. 

On June 13th, 2014, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro reported that there had been a breach involving customer’s credit and debit card information. The restaurant chain learned about the breach on Tuesday June 10th, 2014, and investigated the issue with the help of the United States Secret Service and third-party forensics experts.

Update: BankInfoSecurity.com is reporting that a class action lawsuit has been filed against the Supervalu supermarket chain following the latest details of the supermarket's data breach.
