# Ten Data Breach Statistics That Should Have Your Attention

While 2014 was aptly named "[The Year of the Data Breach](https://info.rippleshot.com/blog/recapping-2014-the-year-of-the-data-breach)," 2015 has unfortunately started off in a similar trajectory, with [breaches at several parking services](https://info.rippleshot.com/blog/data-breach-ripples-week-of-february-06) and Anthem suffering the largest healthcare breach in history. On their own, these incidents paint a pretty bleak picture for data security, but in aggregate, they're even more alarming.

A [survey](http://www.cso.com.au/article/558332/consumers-more-concerned-about-credit-card-security-than-their-health/) conducted by Honeywell found that 93% of consumers were concerned about the security of their credit-card information – compared with just 84% that indicated they were concerned about their health and 81% about their retirement savings. And they're absolutely right to be concerned, with startling data breach statistics like these below:
